India Song

The year is 1937, and India is the setting. Anne-Marie Stretter is the wife of the French ambassador in Calcutta, where she lives a quiet but luxurious existence. A number of illicit love encounters with government officials, as well as with young men who find her to be an object of desire and intrigue, help to alleviate the boredom of her existence.
