The Great Penguin Rescue
The African penguin is struggling to stay alive... Michaela Strachan is dedicated to assisting them. Michaela will be investigating why the penguin population has plummeted and what may be done to save them as the newest member of the SANCCOB chick bolstering team. Every year, the South African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) organizes a spectacular rescue of hundreds of penguin chicks whose parents are unable to feed them owing to harsh conditions. Up to 500 orphaned chicks must be saved, cared for, taught survival skills, and eventually released back into the wild over the course of a frenzied six weeks.
