Joseph Kilian
A lonely person in a world of authoritarian bureaucracy, Harold is the subject of this novel, which follows him through his life. Trying to track down an old acquaintance in Prague, Harold attempts to track down Joseph Kilian. As a result of his accidental discovery of a state-run cat-lending establishment, Harold decides to rent a feline for the day. His subsequent attempt to return the cat results in him discovering that the business has closed. Harold's search for Kilian continues now that he has a canine sidekick. Pavel Juracek's 40-minute short, written and directed by him, skillfully targets personality cults and the follies of a totalitarian system with its metaphorical images.
